The Organizaion Edit – Closet Addition

by | Feb 27, 2025 | Amazon, Home, The Edits | 0 comments

As a fashion blogger and influencer, my closet has become a treasure trove of the clothes I adore—and let’s be real, my inventory of fabulous finds! But here’s the catch: With constant sharing, styling, and ahem shopping, my closet has started to feel more like a chaotic collection than a curated space. And I’ll admit it: over the last few months, it’s been neglected. So, I’ve decided it’s time to stop making excuses and finally take back my space—and I’m bringing you along for the ride!

Let’s be honest—closet cleanouts can feel a little overwhelming, and yeah, there are those moments when you start second-guessing your choices. Did I really need 12 pairs of black boots?! But trust me, once you dive in, you’ll feel SO much lighter (and ready for your next shopping spree wink wink).

What helped me stay on track? The key was planning ahead! I came up with a list of steps to keep me focused, organized, and most importantly, ON TASK. If you’re ready to tackle your closet too, join me as I break down my process for a clean-out that’s fun, productive, and—dare I say—transformative!

TAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR CLOSET

Trust the process—it’s the hardest part, but I promise it’s worth it! You’re about to create a space that sparks joy and makes getting dressed a breeze!

SORT BY CATEGORY

Group items into categories (e.g., shirts, pants, accessories) to make it easier to evaluate what you have.

DESIGNATE DECISION BINS

Set up bins or piles for “keep,” “donate/sell,” and “discard.” This simplifies the decision-making process.

SAY GOODBYE TO CLOTHES THAT DON’T FIT

If it doesn’t fit right now, it’s time to let it go. I know, it’s tough, but holding onto those jeans “just in case” won’t help you today. If you ever change sizes, you can shop for that new season of you—until then, free up the space and donate it!

SAY BYE-BYE TO RIPS, STAINS, & TEARS

That old, stained sweater you wore on that one memorable day? It’s time to part ways! If it’s seen better days (even if it holds sentimental value), chances are, you won’t be pulling it out again.

HAVEN’T WORN IT IN A YEAR? LET IT GO!

Here’s the truth: If it hasn’t sparked joy in the last 365 days, it probably won’t in the next 365.

KEEP A DONATION BAG HANDY

Set up a donation bag in your closet and make it easy to toss items you no longer vibe with. The second you decide you don’t love something, pop it in thebag!

STICK TO THE ONE IN, ONE OUT RULE

When you buy a new sweater, find an old one that needs to go! It’s the ultimate way to keep your closet fresh, balanced, and decluttered.

SET A DECLUTTERING GOAL

Make decluttering a habit! Set a monthly or seasonal reminder to review your closet and keep it in tip-top shape. Trust me, tracking helps maintain.

FIND YOUR PERFECT SYSTEM

Experiment with what works best for you—personally, I swear by organizing by category! Tops, pants, dresses—everything in its place, so I can find what I need in seconds. No more digging through piles or searching for that missing sweater!

NO BASICS? NO PROBLEM

Do you realize you’re not seeing any basics? No perfect blouse, basic tee, or jeans that fit good? Write it down & that is your new shopping list!

I’m all about elevating my closet and making it as chic and organized as possible, and let me tell you – cute, matching hangers and stylish accessories organizers make all the difference! It’s the little things that truly make a closet feel like a luxury experience. From jewelry trays to sleek hangers, I’ve rounded up my absolute faves that will take your closet from basic to fabulous.
