It’s officially baby month 🤍

As a first-time mom, I’ve truly loved diving into all the research and prepping for baby boy’s arrival. I know some of this might be a little extra—but honestly, I’d much rather be overprepared than underprepared for those sleepless newborn nights.

One thing I decided on early: multiple diaper caddies throughout the house, all stocked with the same essentials. We’ll have one in baby boy’s nursery, one in our bedroom, and one downstairs in the living room for easy access no matter where we are.

I found the cutest (and super affordable) caddy with adjustable velcro dividers, which makes it so easy to customize depending on what you want to keep inside.

Of course, diapers are the foundation of it all. I’m really excited to try Coterie diapers and wipes—they’ve been so highly recommended. I also loved receiving a diaper cake at my shower (so adorable), and I’ve heard it’s best to have a few brands on hand since every baby is different.

We also have a diaper pail (not in the caddy, but worth mentioning!) to help lock in odors—something I know we’ll be very grateful for.

A few “not necessary but makes me happy” finds: I grabbed some wipe covers to dress up the packaging a bit. Totally extra, but they spark joy and that counts for something right now. These fit on both the Coterie and WaterWipes we have! 

I’ve also been told that baby boys are… unpredictable during diaper changes 😂 so I added a few pee-pee teepees. These are washable and come with a travel case, which is a nice bonus.

Muslin burpcloths are another must—I’ve tucked them into each caddy for quick cleanups, spit-up, or really anything.

For downstairs changes, I added a foldable, wipeable vegan leather changing mat that fits perfectly in the caddy. I love the neutral tone—it feels calm and not too overstimulating.

One item I keep hearing amazing things about is a diaper cream applicator—apparently a game changer for keeping things mess-free. It even suctions to surfaces, which feels oddly genius.

When it comes to creams and skincare, I definitely leaned into being prepared. I picked up a few different options since I know babies can have sensitivities. Aquaphor felt like a must, and I’ve heard great things about Desitin, Mustela, and Noodle & Boo as well. I also grabbed the Mustela cleansing water for quick refreshes in between baths.

A longtime favorite I had to include: Miss Mouth’s stain remover. I’ve used it for years and know it’ll come in handy with all the inevitable messes.

I also added on-the-go trash bags for quick changes when we’re not near a diaper pail—they seal everything in, which is key.

Pacifiers are one of those “we’ll see” items, but I figured it’s best to have them on hand just in case, along with pacifier wipes for easy cleaning.

And of course—hand sanitizer. A non-negotiable before and after every change.

I know every baby is different, but this setup is making me feel as ready as I can be going into this new chapter 🤍
