If you read my diaper caddy post, you already know my motto — over-prepared is always better than under-prepared! I’ve been so intentional about curating everything I need for recovery and those early postpartum days, and I’m so excited to share it all with you.
The Cart First things first — the foundation of it all is this gorgeous 3-tier rolling cart. It’s neutral, it’s functional, and honestly it’s so versatile that even after the newborn phase it can transition into toy storage, craft supplies, or pantry organization. A true investment piece!
Postpartum Loungewear Let’s be honest — comfort is everything in those first few weeks. I am a pajama girl at heart, so I knew this would be a priority. I found the most beautiful button-front, short-sleeve nightgown that is just perfect for postpartum life (easy access for breastfeeding, hello!). I also grabbed the most luxurious fuzzy robe in the cutest checkered print, and the softest long-sleeve pajama set in the sweetest light blue — a little nod to our baby boy’s arrival. This is my postpartum uniform and I have zero regrets.
Underwear & Feminine Care These are genuinely my favorite everyday underwear — stretchy, supportive, and 100% cotton. I knew they’d be a postpartum staple. I also grabbed a few pairs of period underwear just to have on hand, because again — over-prepared is my love language.
Frida Mom Recovery Essentials Frida Mom truly does it all, and this postpartum care kit is proof. Having everything bundled together gave me such peace of mind — no scrambling, no guessing. I also picked up an extra pack of their postpartum underwear since I’ve heard hospitals provide them but I’d rather have too many than too few. Anything I don’t use I can always gift to a friend or save for the future!
Recovery Must-Haves This belly binder came so highly recommended by my friends — they swear by the support it provides after birth. And for comfort and relief, I stocked up on medicated witch hazel pad liners, ice pack maxi pads, Tucks, and Dermoplast spray for any discomfort. Honestly, I had no idea how much goes into postpartum recovery until I started researching — so grateful for the friends and community who pointed me in the right direction!
Breastfeeding Support Even though I have a dedicated breastfeeding station, I knew I wanted this saline spray close by on the recovery cart — I’ve heard it’s an absolute must for nursing comfort.
Bonus Additions These Frida Mom silicone patches for postpartum cramping, my favorite belly oil (obsessed with it throughout pregnancy for stretch marks and it’ll feel so luxurious postpartum), and a baby-safe hand sanitizer that somehow still leaves your hands feeling amazing all made the cart too.
And of course — Tylenol and Colace are stocked and ready. If you know, you know! 😄
Recovery looks different for everyone, but my hope is that having everything organized and within reach gives me one less thing to think about when all I want to do is soak in those precious newborn moments. If you’re preparing your own postpartum cart, I hope this gave you a great starting point — and as always, I’ve linked everything below for you! 🤍
